With reference to your telegram No. 10 I enquired immediately. Today Government of Siam informed me that
telegram was received last night stating that "Trauten
(?not) a" on return journey stranded February 3rd on
rock off Tungcha Island off ruchow.

All officers and crew on the Island. Small
steamer "Yazoo" belonging to Government of United States
took 63 from the Island to Ningpo.
Commander and 60
men stand by vessel (gr. undec.) which is full of
water and exposed to the monsoon.
United States Minister has asked Philippine
Government to order "Yazoo" to bring all crew to Hong Kong. Government of Siam has telegraphed to Ningpo for report as to condition of ship and at their request I am telegraphing to Government of Hong Kong their request for the salvage of the vessel if not total wreck at
the expense of Siamese Government,
"Chiengmai" left Japan February 5th for Siam and Minister for Foreign Affairs states that "Kohsichang" will as stated be ready by the end of March
